I Will Help You Rapidly Develop Your Musical Skills So You Can Make The Music You Want To Make.

I draw on 15 years of experience as a guitarist, songwriter, lyricist, improvisor, producer, collaborator, and composer, sharing both my technical insights and my understanding of the short- and long-term elements of the creative process to help my students reach their goals.

I’ve helped many students develop dramatically as guitarists, learning to navigate the entire fretboard, learn repertoire, and improvise, oftentimes in a surprisingly short period of time.

I’ve also helped my students develop as lyricists, develop confidence in articulating their ideas to collaborators, navigate the New York music scene, and release their first EP’s.

I run a growing online educational community (via Skool) with courses on guitar skills and music theory, weekly Q&A’s with me, and more. Throughout 2024 I’ll be adding two courses per month, as well as one-off instructional videos on topics requested by students. My Skool group can be accessed for $20/month.

I also teach individual lessons online or at my studio in Ridgewood, Queens, for $100/hour (sliding scale available - contact me to talk about it).

But before you pay for anything, please consider checking out the first lesson in my Fretboard Freedom course. This lesson will teach you how to improvise across the entire fretboard in all keys, as well as offer you a practice plan to help you dramatically develop this skill in one month, or less. Scroll down to the bottom of this page to watch the first lesson and access both tabs for the major scale in 6 positions, and a 2-week practice plan, which will give you a clear set of steps for getting this information into your muscle and musical memory.

Testimonials

“giant endorsement from me. cole has been teaching me guitar and sometimes songwriting for a year and it is changing my life” - David

“Cole is extremely knowledgeable and communicates what he knows well, even to the most unknowing beginner. He has a holistic approach to teaching, connecting what you're learning on guitar to music theory and music history, as well as your own interests! Most importantly, he's patient, kind, and easy-going which keeps lessons fun, even in the frustration that comes with learning something new. I highly recommend him as a teacher!” - Kristin

“Cole is extremely easy to work with and learn from. He listened to what my goals were and helped to put together a customized, comprehensive curriculum. He was also very open to hearing what aspects of the learning process I wanted to avoid/didn't have the energy for, which made it much easier to keep up my enthusiasm and put the work in each week between sessions. I highly recommend Cole, whether you're starting from scratch or a higher skill level.” - Luke

“Cole has an amazing amount of guitar knowledge and is very friendly and encouraging! In one short lesson I learned a lot of chords that I never knew existed - I feel like I have a lot to practice and want to keep working.” - James

Fretboard Freedom, Part 1:

How To Actually Practice Scales

the entirety of the Fretboard Freedom course, including play-along practice videos, can be found on my Skool page.

All of the scales discussed in this video are available as a .pdf here.

A two-week practice plan is available here.

A note: two weeks of practice for one hour a day sounds like a lot at first, but I have seen, firsthand, the difference it makes, many times over.

Also: I’m giving this to you for free! You have nothing to lose!

An additional note: I’m not requiring you to join any sort of mailing list in order to access these materials because: 1) I myself am annoyed when I am led through those funnels, and 2) I don’t send all that many emails.

If you want to join my mailing list, my substack is available here.

I’m also very active on Instagram - feel free to check it out. Shoot me a dm!
